Problem with check engine codes on h22a civic
when I check the engine codes in my 93 h22a hatch my check engine light stays on, and doesn't blink at all. When I start the car the check engine light turns on 3 seconds after the car is started and goes into safe mode. I've disconnected the battery 2 times and started it up, drove it a few blocks, and checked to see which codes were causing the check engine light to come on. Everytime I check the check engine light just stays on? Is it because the ECU is bad?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Rob

My question is if the check engine light comes on and stays solid does it mean 0? 0 means there is something wrong with the ecu. I have done it with other civics and it always flashed, so I know I'm have the wire plugged in right spot to jump the service connector.

Don't quote me on it, but I'm fairly certain the solid CEL is the ECU.
Try a known good substitute before you just go buy another one. See if a friend has a P13 you can borrow.
Good luck.

Re: Problem with check engine codes on h22a civic (h22sedan)
thanks for the info, that's what I was afraid of! I guess it's just another 175 I'll have to spend.

If u could drive it to intecracing they could help ya out. They're in Kent. I don't know though if u think u can drive ur car the way it is... I might be able to come help ya out.. I live in Bellingham, just an hour and half away... Did u just do this swap? I got an h22 in my teg that I did all myself, so I know plenty about h22 swaps. Shoot me a pm.
