Default OBD1 P72 or OBD2 99 Si ECU???

Which ECU would be best to run with a JDM B16 in my car??? Also, I will be doing a LS VTEC soon so which one would be better for that. My car is OBD1 and I am aware if I used the OBD2 I would need the wiring harness... please let me know. Thanks.

OBD1. It is better for tuning and you will not have problems with running a OBD2 ECU on a OBD1 car.

Neither. Get an OBD1 P30 or chipped P28.

It is from a SiR II (B16a) or Del sol B16a.

the 99 Si computer would not work because the b16a (unless it is out of fa 99-00 CIVIC SI) is missing the Crank Speed Fluctuation sensor on the oil pump. Now you could buy the oil pump and the sensor and wire in a secondary O2 sensor but you don't need to. Not worth it. Just get a P30, or the chipped P28, like suggested. My LS/Vtec is in a 2000 Civic Hatch, I converted it to OBD-1, using the Skunk2 harness and a chipped obd-1 to avoid alot of the problems I would encounter with OBD-2.

OBD-1

With the stock B18A bottom end and a 2000 gsr head, RC throttle body, Skunk2 intake manifold, Skunk2 camgears and a chipped computer I put down 178 SAE to the wheels on the dynojet. That engine is turbocharged now and makes 360 hp and 267 tq SAE on the dyno at 14psi on pump gas. (does have internals now)
