K24 accord?
i saw there is like a hasport 5th gen with a k24 (tsx) in it. my question is - is it worth it?
h22 vs k24. weight? power? obviously the h22 is easier to put into an accord of any gen. but would a k24 swap be worth it? k20s are shittin on b16/18 in civics and integs so would a k24 be better than an h22 in an accord? any feedback is helpful. thanks in advance

yeah you pretty much got that one nailed, h22 easier, cheaper, suppose to be.... k24, harder more expensive but it'll go faster

tsx swap will cost a pretty penny right now. potential is better of course. just depends on the budget. I also haven't seen any mounts for accords yet.

well how much does it cost? what i plan to do is put an engine in and try to make like the most N/A power with no internal mods. so like i/h/e simple stuff.
what makes the tsx better? is it lighter than the h22? i know more torque too. any info you got helps. thanks

Well obviously, the k24 is a better platform. But imo, especially in the accord chassis, people will be doing it just for the bling factor. For the amount of money you WILL spend putting it into the heavier accord chassis which is heavy. You might aswell, build a nice hybrid motor with F22/F23 and H22/H23 parts. Cost effective and can make the Tq and power you may want. O wells...JDM/Bling-blung rules all.

I talked today with Brian G, the head of r&d at hasport. The mounts are finished and production will begin very soon. The wire harness is also complete so it is just a matter of time to make these available to all hasport dealers.
Personally, I am trying to located an accord wagon without a motor, so that I can make a tsx powered accord wagon with A/C and maybe a supercharger

From what I have seen recently, people are bypassing the H22 too quickly. Provided you are looking for a motor that tops out at no more than 240 Dynojet wheel HP, the H22 is very competitive and very cheap compared to the alternatives.
You can buy complte H22 packages all day long for a fraction of what K motor package will cost.
The Curpiers surprised people by showing up at Hyperfest with two H22 hybrids and they were turning the fastest qualifying times on Saturday, beating out two K motor hybrids (Franza and Chad).
The H motors are far from dead, if you know what you're doing.
There's no doubt that if you're going for the ultimate, then the K motor is the way to go, and you know that people are still developing things for the K motor whereas the H motor development has pretty much ended.
As to the query about the B motor tranny mated w/the H motor: If your H motor is going into one of the smaller chassis like the DC or EK, then it's a logical thing to do. The adapter allows you to use the very nicely shifting ITR transmission and stock Honda Torsen axle instead of the more expensive and less than excellent H motor alternatives out of the various Preludes and Accords with cable shifters.
If I were putting a high powered H motor into an Accord, then I would not bother with trying to use the B motor. It's just logical if you're putting the H motor into a Civic or Integra.

I agree, the H is so simple to put into an accord. It would end up being about 20%-25% of the cost of a K swap. And a lot less hassle.
