just finished swap now car wont start.
i just finished swapping a d16z6 into my 94 cx. Im having a couple of problems, sometimes the car starts and it idles really high and other times it has a hard time starting and back fires like crazy..i actually seen flames shooting out of my exhaust. When driving the car it starts bogging at around 3-4k rpm. Im thinking the car is running to rich and is just flooding the engine with fuel but im not to sure. If thats the case then how do i fix this?

are you using the right computer?
did you change the timing belt? maybe it is off a tooth? it is easy to check...
it sounds like a timing issue...
can you provide more details? are you getting any codes?

get a timing light, follow the instructions that come with it, but heres the short of it.
you attach the timing light to the #1 spark plug wire
start the car.
the timing light looks like a lazer gun with no trigger, it will flash rapidly with light once you turn the car on.
point the timing light down at the harmonic balancer, looking at the crank pulley from above where the power steering pulleys normally are.
every time thelight flashes out of the gun, the timing mark on the crank whould be lined up with the line on the plastic cover, post a question in the tech forum for pics of where to aim the timing light, I'm sure someone will have them. It's kinda hard to explain without pics.
