How do you tell if a P28 ecu is 5spd or automatic?
Can you tell if a P28 is automatic or 5spd. from the code on the side?
I heard if the code starts with a "5" then it's automatic, if it starts with any other number, then it's for the 5spd's.
Is there another way to tell? Is this true?
anyone know?
thx in adv

Re: How do you tell if a P28 ecu is 5spd or automatic? (vtecjj)
Example: 37820-P28-A52 <-- Auto
Example: 34517-P28-A02 <-- Man
If it says A00, A01, A02, or L01 etc....then its 5 speed
If it says anything like A52, G52, L52 etc...then its auto

Samething for the P13, but usually on the label on the cover it'll say MT or AT on it, and depending if it's JDM (if nobody swapped covers), it'll say J-AT or J-MT on the label, but there's a sure way to make sure if it's JDM or US by another way.
