Figured out my vibration problem. Hasport EG's unite!
It's from my tranny TOUCHING the frame rail.
WTF????
I'm down there doing a bunch of stuff, and I take a look over at the passenger side.
The top of my tranny is actually rubbing on the bottom of the frame rail. This has to be causing at least some of the vibrations I'm feeling.
Anybody else have this problem? I'm trying to figure out an easy way to fix it....I might be able to grind a TAD away from both the frame rail and the top of the tranny.

Check to see if the poly in your moutns have any fatigue in them. I noticed on 3 cases on EF mounts where it rips, cracks and/or breaks down.

There's none of that.
I haven't even put 500 miles on the car, and the vibration was there when I first started it up.
Come to think of it, I noticed it was touching when I first put it in, but I guess I just assuemed there were a few CM's of clearance or something.
I'll try to get a pic up.

whaa. where is it touching? get a picture. I'll take a pic of mine as I don't have vibration problems. Only issue is the damn passenger axle inner cv coming out about 1/2" an inch.

I can't get a pic up, but the very end of the tranny was rubbing on the bottom of the frame rail.
I went under there and banged it up a bit, and it's clearing by maybe 2mm...I was hoping that would fix the vibration, but no beans.
This thing is idling HARD....I mean it shakes my steering wheel so hard my keys bounce up and down.
I haven't a clue what the problem is....last week it was fine. I mean I had a very very slight vibration, but nothing that shakes my whole dashboard just idling there.
My idle is even kinda high too..I put it at like 950, because last week, that was the RPM I got it to idle at with no vibrations at all.
I'm pretty discouraged now. There's nothing at all I can think of that would be causing the vibration now.

Does anyone else, with an h22 eg have their tranny touch the frame rail?
I mean my sterring vibrates at idle, but slightly. My idle is also at about 800 rpms or so prolly couple hundred less.
Hopefully someone can help you.

Damn jon, try and get some pictures. I want to see this.
I have never had that problem at all.

You can't see it in that picture.
If you take off the passenger side wheel, or turn it all the way where you can stick your head in there you can see what I'm talking about.
There's a cylinder shaped part on the very TOP of the tranny case..it's cylinder shaped and has a flat end.
The very top edge of this was resting against my frame rail.
I'll try to get pics up, but I'll have to go get another disposable camera, and then get it developed and then get it scanned in since I don't have a digi cam...by that time nobody will care
I will say this though....this vibration (even after nudging the frame rail enough to not touch tranny) is so annoying that if I can't get it stopped soon I'm selling. It's just unbelievably annoying.

Re: Figured out my vibration problem. Hasport EG's unite! (hot_EH)
does your motor move at all when giving throttle? mine doesnt move at all. its as though the mounts are solid. if you made it so the trans cleared the rail and you still have a vibration, then maybee sometyhing else is to blame. im gonna get teg axles and accord midshaft soon. to see if its definately the axles causing the vibration. also i read on dss website that they will actually have a vibration analysis and balancer. so as soon as i get a day off im gonna go out there and see if everything is ok. i aslo read that he suggests that you should rotate the shaft 180 degrees(dont underestand why) but that it may fix the problem. also rebalance the front wheels and perform alignment. im going to try and get in touch with them tommorrow so ill let you know what i come up with hang in there!!!!

i think hes reffering to the circle part on the left side of the pic in the middle. that thing is CLOSE. but mine doesnt touch. even when im outside the car giving it throttle the motor doesnt even move enough to come close.

Yeah I know. Motor doesn't move at all being very stiff mounts. I'm gonna have to take all sorts of pictures in that area.

even if the motor was hitting the rail, wouldnt you hear a really bad rattling noise?

I really don't think that's the problem. Because the motor doesn't move at all.
I just hope we get some pictures.

Yeah I heard a rattling noise when it was hitting the frame rail.
But I still hear a rattling noise now. I think it's coming from my exhaust though.
Also, I don't think it's the axles. The car vibrates very hard at idle, and at anywhere in the RPM range when sitting still.
I've looked all over, no mount bolts look loose, no bushings are torn, nothing is hitting anything after I fixed the tranny hitting the frame, and yet it's still rattling so hard it's making my radio pull itself out.
I thought maybe it's something internal, but I don't know what it could be.
I just got finished adjusting the balancer shafts correctly, which I did because I thought it was causing my previous, much lesss aggressive vibration.
Even after I did that, it was fine. I just go out one day and start it and it vibrates like a motha.

have you tried taking off the balance shaft belt at all to see if that's the problem? that's still very wierd hmm.
what about when you rev up the motor while at a stop?
