Default Disconnecting EVAP after OBD2 to OBD1 conversion with Y7 Y8 mini-me?

I have some crappy idle at cold startup and am running a little rich after my obd2 to obd1 conversion running a Y7 block with Y8 head mini-me setup in my 99 civic CX. I have been searching for hours trying to come up with something, and it seems that the EVAP system works differently between OBD2 and OBD1. I read that if I disconnect the plug from my evap solenoid it could fix my problem but what do I do with the hoses that hook to it? Will this make it so that my gas tank won't vent since the solenoid stays closed? I have read that the OBD1 ecu won't throw a code if I disconnect the plug but I don't know if I should unhook the hose from the vacuum cannister to let the tank vent or just leave it hooked up the way it is and just unplug the electrical connection. Any ideas here?
