Default H22A EG Mods Part 3

Alright, its decided, I'm going to turbocharge the JDM H22A. A few questions first. My Integra axles suck. I'm going to need 500 hp axles. Who makes a good axle, with a warrantee, for not too much. My drivetrain is first on my list. Here's my projected setup. ACT 6 Puck, Fidanza 8 lb flywheel, PHANTOM GRIP (I'm told its as good as a Quaife), 500 hp axles.

Next, its valvtrain. Should I Skunk everything? Retainers, valves, valve springs, camshafts. Who makes a good FI camshaft?

And now bottom end. H22 H23, does it matter? Where can I find a block cheap that I can send to Golden Eagle.

Electronics. VAFC (Told its useless for a turbo setup), AEM EMS (Told its overkill), Hondata S200 (Told its perfect, but a little pricy like the AEM)

Anyone with info, parts for sale, feedback, warnings, etc. post back!!!

Thanks,
Bob

I stopped reading your post right there... Do a little bit of research because you're DEFINITELY better off spending a little extra money on a Quaife

Not bad, but I've heard rumors that there's only one real manufacturer of those flywheels and that you may be paying just for the Fidanza name. But hey, they are just rumors.

[QUOTE=rfoster03]PHANTOM GRIP (I'm told its as good as a Quaife)</TD></TR></TABLE>
You were told wrong. Quaife, or maybe even take a chance on the OBX LSD that supposed to be coming out soon for the h-series.

Why? You might want cam gears to dial out overlap, but you won't really need any of this. This'll be a $3000 waste of time.

Just look around.

Those are all completely different systems. It's like going from an bacteria's brain, to a dolphin's brain, to a human's brain. While they are all some form of brain, none of them are in the same league as the others. AEM is a complete solution you won't ever want or need anything else. Hondata is a tuning solution, it has it's own limitations. VAFCs are for ricers

YOu are missing alot from your list, but one thing that comes out very clearly is RC injectors and ARP head studs.

Well its now obvious Phantom grip is junk, and Denis Howell told me that a Quaife is the ultimate answer (if I'm running slicks, and if I have high hp axles.) Anyways, he convinced me that for street use the ACT Xtreme pressure plate with the street disc is better suited for me that the six puck, and lucky for me, I found one on ebay, brand new for $300. He also told me that my OBD1 Prelude motor is a closed deck, so I can run 8 lbs on a bone stock engine, provided that I'm not running lean, and make some serious hp. Thought, insight, suggestion?

At least you found an honest guy. The h22's ringlands seem to be the first to go. 8lbs well tuned and you should be fine. But dont' expect perfect honda reliability.

will it be a daily driver? cause the XTREME PP will have TONS of pedal pressure. Its a good work out on your calf....

I have HD PP with 6-puck and its perfecto

stock axles will work fine if you know how to launch it
we have a 575whp civic with stock axles and has not broken yet...
