turbo h22 92-95 civic. . . cant fit alternator... looking for alternatives
ok, i got a h22, sfp manifold with t66.... there is no way to fit the stock h22 alternator in the front.... looking for ideas on how other people got around this.... and where to mount a diff. alternator... the shop doing the work has brought up the idea of maybe using a john deere tractor alternator which they tell me is tiny and around 40amps. . this car will not really be daily driven, but id say maybe 2-3 days a week, and ill bring it to the track im sure too. . .

only thing then the downpipe would go through where the alternator and stuff usually is.
id still say mount it where the ac used to be.

Agreed you will have to clock the turbo so that the exhaust side is by the alternator, after that it should be easy enough to fabricate a downpipe that will it nicely..

why not use a d- series alternator and mount it on the back of the motor? of course you need to fabricate a mount but I think it could work.

that seems to me that it would require eitehr cutting of the strut tower or a pulley systems that goes over the top of the tower...

Looks like clearance problems either way you face it but I'd keep it the way it is.
On my particular set-up, I have to mount turbo with the compressor housing on that drivers side because of the DP design.
I agree with v4lu3s, mounting it where the ac use to mount is a possibly but it looks as if the charge pipping would be in the way from the pic. The pic is kinda deceiving though.
It doesn't look like it would work to the other way with that particular manifold and rerouting the DP.

Check out us. I have one I custom made recently for my Crx with H23V turbo and have had issues with clearance so made one way up high, its up in PS area and hugs the engine super close.
