Re: b18 vtec head on a b20a5 (civichatch08)
From messing with it in the past, the head don't line up correctly if I remember correctly. I believed several of the head bolt head doesn't line up. Also, the b20a5 block lean too far to the back for a good fit into an eg/dc body. Again, it has been a while since I mess with it so some detail might be off.

The older Prelude B20's are completely different from the B20B/Z's from the CRV. Installing a DOHC VTEC head onto the older B20 isn't really possible (sure anything is possible but to make it work... good luck).

[Bi wouldnt do it, its not worth it. why would you want to put a 1.8 liter head on a 2.0 liter block. it dont make sinceB]
b16=1.6 liter
b18=1.8
b20=2.0
h22=2.2
i think you should learn your codes

Your post makes no sense. There are a lot of reasons to put a 1.8, or even a 1.6L head on a 2L block. It is done all the time. The vtec head on the b16 flows better than any b20 head and gives you much better cam options.
I know you were trying to help, but please don't post unless you are really familiar with the subject under discussion.

Top Ramen is half right.
Ive got a really good friend who has a B18 vtec head on a B20 block
and its turbo, putting the B18 vtec head on the B20 block makes VERY little compression making it one of the best honda motors//combo's to apply a turbo too
this car is built one of a kind custom turbo kit (everything...ECU is one of a kind, turbo manifold is one of a kind anything u can name.)
This car makes nearly 600 horsepower at the wheels

That's not the same b20 block that we're talking about though.
