Default Used NSX or New S2000??

Or New NSX I am moving to Florida and I want something new for the garage. I have ALWAYS loved the NSX and I really like the S2000's.

They are both badass and quick well handling cars. Of course a New NSX is going to cost a mint but, maybe you guys have some insight(Warrantee Issues, Payments, Etc.) on why a new NSX would be a good choice. A used S2000 isn't really on the menu, they really don't cost that much to begin with so, I would just take a new one

Vote for one and tell me why if you will.

Thanks,
Miguel

It's honestly upto the person on what they want to do, and what car they like the most. But my recommendation if you buy an NSX is to go with a newer model, which has the 3.2L motor, not the 3.0L motor.
Being in a family that prides themselves on their money management, I would recommend you go used NSX, because it honestly makes sense for someone else to take the hit on depreciation (we all know that first year depreciation on a car is when capital consumption is at its highest).
The S2000 is a great car, and is actually the car I am looking into; but with the proper economic means I would without a doubt go for the NSX. Sure it maybe an older chassis and have older technology..but in my opinion and from its heralds across the automotive media, it is better looking, performs better and is more prestigious.

I know I didn't help much, but any decision you make will be a good one.
So good luck.

Older technology where?
The NSX was far ahead of its time, the technology used on the NSX is being used on the S2000, so I wouldn't call it old in that sense.

There is nothing wrong with the older 3.0L the difference is 20hp a 6 speed removable top and a lot of money. If you don't mind not having a removable top the other two can be obtained. If you plan to track the car, alot of tracks won't let the T-top run without a rollbar.

I wouldn't compare the NSX to the S2000.

My opinion is that you get a new S2000.The reason for this is because, the car is brand new, you will put all the miles on it, you how how it's gonna be driven, and it's peace of mind...and by the way, have you seen how much parts are for an NSX? And the NSX is old news now, it's a great car, i wouldn't mind having one, even a 91, but you can't beat the new technology in the S2000...it makes the old NSX look like a VW...just my 2 cents

A 97+ NSX-T would be nice. Newer car, so you wouldn't have any maintenance issues at all for several years. Plus, the 97's and 98's are in the 50's, which is quite reasonable for the car you're getting.

And older NSX coupe would also be nice, but you're getting into older-car issues more likely (although it depends on the specific car you find). If you want to do lots of mods, though, they're a good platform.

If you want something fun, new, and hassle-free, an S2000 is a good choice, but definitely not as good a choice as a 97+ NSX-T if you can afford it.

I would choose the nsx, its a supercar!!!! not only are the looks of the car better, but V6 and mid engine rwd is the best.

This poll is going just like my brain is... LOL

To me it is a very tuff decision. I appreciate your participation and look forward to more replies. I am extremely surprised about the Used NSX votes even though it does make more sense to let the other guy get hit with the depreciation

Thanks Fellas, keep em comin.

i see S2000z almost every other day here in jax,fl now ...

NSX is still more sheik .. less common ... more HP potential .. and probably less likely to decapitate yourself (:

What year did they switch to the 3.2, the removable top and 6 speed?

BTW, I voted for the NSX, because you can get them used at a reasonable choice, and I love that car.

NSX! Sorry but the S2000 is great and all but still lacks lots of the grunt that the NSX will give. They both are great cars but the NSX is the ticket! Can you say panty dropper

Seriously they both handle great and if you do plan on tracking the car you will actually have a harder time with the S2000 then the NSX (even if the NSX is a T-top). The S2k is a convt. and requires the overhead protection.

Buy an S2000 now and wait for the new NSX platform to come out.

The S2000 gets lots of looks all by itself. Most people see it and are like, WTF is that? Being a Honda fan it astounds me how many people don't know what a Honda S2000 is.

The replacement part cost and ease (lack thereof) of maintenance issues with the NSX would be my reason for going w/ the S2000.

Removable top was introduced in 1995. In fact, all 1995 NSXes have the removeable top. They re-introduced the coupe in 1996.

The 3.2L engine and 6-speed transmission were introduced in 1997, which is why I recommended looking for a 97+ car.

The issue of maintenance is another reason I recommended a newer car.

I debated this very thing a few months back. I came to my decision for a number of reasons. The NSX has and still is my dream car, i dont care if its not the fastest/newest bad *** on the street, but in my mind it is classic and its still mydream car. But reality is that the S2k at least here in SoCal does NOT deprieciate the way normal cars do. In fact Kelly blue book values a 01 s2k w/ 7k miles for more than msrp of a new one. Second was that it is new, and w/ that came the warrenty. I dont have all the $$ in the world and the idea of fixing the nsx scared the hell out of me.

So in the end, I told myself get the s2k enjoy it, save money then go buy a KICK *** nsx. as new as possible. Plus my g/f loved the little thing so...as you can see in my sig...i own a 02 s2k

I would think that there would be no need to mod it, but than again, I would probably get the mod bug....
