Resetting the radio
My brother tried putting in his radio code after a battery reconnect, however he didn't know the code. He finally got ahold of the code, but the radio has permanently shut itself off. We tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, but the radio seems to remember that he mistyped the code one to many times. How can I reset the radio to put the code in again?

I've tried leaving the battery disconnected. As far as grounding out the positive, I've done that before on my Civic, and while the spark shower is kinda cool, I don't forsee that resetting the radio.

for the love of god, dont deliberatley make something short out. jesus.
all that you have to do is disconect the battery for a few minutes, the ERR message will go away and you can retype your code. are you sure that you have the right code. most dealers put a sticker on the inside of the glove box. when the cars come to the dealership, this code and another longer series of numbers is on a set of two stickers. one of the stickers usually goes with the owners manual to be saved for delivery. and the other sticker goes in the glove box. somethimes they will get lazy and not put one in the glove box. some dealers put one of the stickers in the back of the owners manual itself. and, yes, i know that it doesn't make any sense that they put the anti theft code, somehwere were it is readily available to thieves (glovebox) , but you cant expect too much from honda dealers.
oh, also. no dealer that i have ever seen uses the right octane in s2k's. its always 87. good thing you have knock sensors
