Rear end making a weird noise, by the wheel
ok, so for a couple of days, Ive been hearing a slight squeaky noise coming from my rear right tire, my car is pretty low, and i figured it was my tire rubbing so i didn't pay any attention on it.
Well a week passes and i noticed it got louder and louder by day, the noise seems like a SQUEAK with a slight grind sort of like when a brake caliper gets stuck or the pad is hitting the rotor, i took everything apart and nothing was wrong, the only thing im thinking now is possibly being the bearing that's going out, the car only has 75k on it, so its odd but it could be none the less, i tried moving the rotor and it does not so some one told me the bearing is out of the question, the axle is not vibrating either from what i can tell and the rotor is not warped, CAN some one please throw some guidance my way, this is driving me insane, can the bearing be bad and not move when i shake the hub?
- this i have noticed about 5 minutes into driving the car after being parked for a while, then it progresses

Dude same thing with my car but from the driver side rear... my car isnt even that dumped anymore ever since i got new rims..had to raise it up due to rubbing issues. U think is has to do with the the rear axle wearing out cuz we dont have them spacers on??? someone please help us with this...

well its either the axle or bearing, mine has no play so idk if a bad bearing would still show no play

it could be the bearing or the axle. i had mine dumped on buddyclub suspension and after about a month i had the same noise. it took me a month to find out what it was. more than likely you will have to either get axle spacers or the bearing. i let mine go to long and i ended up having to replace the axle. what suspension are you running and how low is the car?

Its not your axle. If you jack up the car and hit your wheel with a rubber mallet and it has a very hollow sound then the bearing is going out. also while the car is up in the air check for play in the wheel.
honestly it could be your brake pads are worn down and the iron backplate or metal tab are rubbing against your rotor.

Ok, just took brakes off again and unbilted axle nut and looked back there and saw that the axle looked to.be rubbing on the hub some, I put a crapload of axke grease on and put everything back on, drove yhe car for about twenty minutes and the noise seems to be gone, ill keep on updating as time progresses to see if its really gine for good

hard to describe, it looked like it was rubbing some where, axle greased it and havent heard it since.

I had the exact same thing you are describing and it was my bearing on a 2002 with 49k miles on it at the time. I bought a used hub off a ap2 and replaced it myself for around 75 dollars. Wheel bearings are a semi common problem with these cars ap1s specifically I think.

well, since i greased it up the noise has gone away, i ordered the diff/axle spacers so that will hopefully prevent my bearings from going out

i had the same problem, it was my hub being loose in the bearing.. had to replace hub and bearing.
Its all becuase from the factory the axle nut is 180 ft lbs, rather than 230.
and my car has 60k miles on it. 2000 s2000.

ive read both the hub and greasing it fixes it, unfortunately mine was the hub being ****ed up. i wish i had a pic, it wasn't re-usable.
