Default low compression on cyl 1, have the head off dont see any issue

i had low compression on cyl 1, did a leakdown test and it pointed to something in the exhaust valves.

The head is off now, but there is no signs of a bent valve, all the valves are seated completely.

Any ideas what to check?

What should i rebuild since the head is off?

piston rings sticking can cause you to have low compression on one cylinder
A Head gasket leak can cause low compression on one cylinder

Fluid check the head for leaks on that cylinder. A leak may not be that apperent.
How low was the cylinder in comparison to the others?
Did you try pouring oil in the cylinder before removing the head?

worn exhaust valve guides!!!! i just had mines done. had the same issue as you. i had 180 on cylinder #1 and 235 on the other 3. took the head off but everything looked okay. took the head to the shop and thats what the shop told me. made sense i guess cause there was a lot of carbon build up on cylinder 1 piston. gl.
