This is true, as this style is VERY popular for the S2000. However, I've always been a fan of very DEEP dish rims or "concave face" wheels. Unfortunately, deep dished rims are expensive and hard to come by, as there aren't too many choices. Concave face wheels don't start until about 20"+ so you don't see them on smaller cars like ours.

s2k just cant fit anything lower than a +35. if you want concave you need to be wide bodied. but anyway, im just tired of seeing the same rims all the time. its like the ce28's, everyone has them. i plan to get ce28's again, but im going +40 unlike everyone else.

Honestly do you know how hard that is in the realm of Hondas? Especially where you are criticized if you get any other wheel besides JDM fanboy crap? lol

Theirs a descent amount of non JDM rims out there that actually fit well and are clean.

There's nothing wrong with getting Rotas. If all you're going for is the look, then look no further.
In terms of durability, they're a lot tougher than most folks give them credit for. I had Rota C8s (Mugen MF8 replicas) on my Integra for almost 2 years, and they held up perfectly fine considering I used to drive her over some really shitty roads almost daily.
The only reasons you'd want to avoid the Rotas are:
1) Some folks take this **** too seriously (and too personally) and bag on people with "fake" wheels...which is something you'd have to develop thicker skin to handle
2) While they look good, sometimes the quality isn't always the greatest. The C8s I mentioned above were nice, but had tiny little imperfections in the paint and in the metal itself
3) While it may be a good copy, sometimes there are minute differences between the replica and the real thing. For example, the D2s spokes curve out a little differently than the authentic SSRs
4) Replicas usually weigh a few pounds heavier than the authentic pieces
Personally, I'm looking to pick up a set of D2s sometime later this year. I think they'd make a pretty decent daily-driver wheel.

I got some Rota d2 trying to sell but no one is believing my price. 17x8.5. Brand New tires also 225/35/17. 4x100. Was selling them for 900 with brand New tires no dent or curb rash.
