Default Converting the s2k to RHD...i havn't seen this yet...

People convert RHD skylines to LHD...Type-r's, civics, del sols all to RHD...How come no one has converted the s2k to a RHD?

I can't see why it should be so hard...Their are plenty of ways to get a JDM dash and steering rack/pinion/column...

What is the main reason this hasn't been done? Is it becuase of the electronic steering? Relocating the pedals? Reversing the firewall, or welding a new one in?

Anyone have any comments, or i think about stuff for my car too much?

I've never seen a LHD Skyline, at least not a GT-R. I think it's because the turbos get in the way of steering rack (at least that's what I heard was one of the many reasons it wasn't suitable for sale in the US).

I imagine a RHD S 2000 conversion would be possible. I'm sure it would involve cutting the firewall, which wouldn't be a good idea in my book. I've seen it done to Integra's and Civic's. But they seemed to require a lot of work including cutting the firewall.

At the end of the day, I would think it would be possible but maybe not worth it to anyone but the hardest core of JDM nutheadedness (or someone really bored.)

You'd need a JDM S2K front clip first.

Good luck with that.

not saying i had plans on doing this, but im very curious to if anyone has attempted or done this...

everyone jumps the gun right away and says "JDM" this or that...I understand the JDM craze, but their is a lot worse in that caze than making a RHD conversion...

Its prolly pretty similar to swapping a civic to RHD....

You would need a new steering rack, dash, firewall, brake lines, clutch lines, all the wiring is different, and a bunch of other stuff. You would almost have to get a front clip because of all the misc parts you would need.

no one around here i trust to do it...

plus if i do it, im doing it the right way...i want all the JDM s2k parts...

so pretty much i need a front clip with no motor...well ill take a motor and build a turbo block up

anyway, if i can locate a RHD dash ill take it from there

I think converting your car to rhd unless youre going to export to a rhd country is beyond retarded and stupid and quite laughable.

lol...i gotta say, yearning for a rhd S2000 like you are seems to me like yearning for a JDM Honda toenail clipper or something...its like who the **** cares? Do you really desire to have a rhd S2000 so badly for the simple sake of driving a rhd car? Or is it so you can be like "Hey all, look at my rhd S2000!" Seems silly...but hell man, whatever floats your boat.

That just made me laugh.

"Ask any true JDM freak. Whether it's a JDM toe nail clipper or a JDM RHD S2k, JDM is JDM!"

<-- Could care less about JDM this n' that. Would rather spend the hundreds or thousands needed for a RHD in track time/tires.

I've driven RHD in Japan for a couple months, takes some getting used to, but its all the same. I'd imagine it would be a lot easier to curb park it in the US, but then when you try to pull out you're fucked 'cuz you can't see.

JDM? My JDM PS2 bought in '01 still works, JDM noodles taste better, and JDM toe-warming shoe insert! Of course JDM is better.
