Default the whistling

ok genius'...hope u can help me figure this one out. i put in a prelude engine into my accord, it runs fine n all, but it makes this winding sounds, kinda whistles.
what do u guys think it might be?

it could somehow be altenator noise comin through your speakers

i donno exactly, its weird..most of the time, the sound happens when Im accelerating and changing gears?? do u think this is bad deadly-lude?

honestly sounds like alternator noise but i would have to see hear it myself to say for sure. Try this. unplug your radio(dont turn off just totally unplug the back) if the sound continues take it to your mechanic.

The whistling in my car comes from that funny snail thing mounted on the exhaust manifold, hehehe...

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I agree with the stereo noise, but if the stereo is off it shouldn't be whining. Some intakes have a whistling sound to it. Try revving your engine with the hood open and listen for whistling. Did you replace the trans fluid after the install? Of course you did, but check the level and also if the tires spin freely in neutural.....Good luck!

hmm..maybe, just maaaybe it could be the stereo! Im gonna be heading down to "garage five"..soon anyways, Ill let them know! :>

It could possibly be your timing belt. It may need to be tightened or losened, one of the two. I know my Prelude did it once and I had it adjusted and the whine/whistle noise hasn't come back
