Default Noisy start up!

My 5th Gen sounds horrible during cold start up! It almost sounds like the car is about to explod sometimes. The are so many different noises that I can not tell where they are coming from! I read a post and I was wondering if this could happen to a H22A engine also or could it be the valves, belts, or dizzy?

My dizzy did the same thing...apparently its becoming pretty common from the posts I've seen the past 2 years. But I'd also check the inside bolt holding the timing belt cover. aka you need to remove the belt cover and check the 10mm bolt on the engine side of the cover. The reason I say this is because my dizzy was making the same noise, but I found out the hard way it was also the bolt rattling and the sound was resonating through the valve cover. Shortly thereafter it dropped down on the crank pulley and shredded my timing belt to hell. Sucked having to buy a new dizzy and replace 8 bent valves. Good luck.

Look around man, see if there is anything loose. Heatsheilds tend to cause alot of noise if they are loose or missing bolts. I have found that the heatsheild on cats seems to rattle on many cars. Make sure the exhaust isnt rubbing on anything and its damaged, holes, leaks, etc.

Make sure you have oil in the car, it sounds dumb but its a possibility.

Another thing i could say is to do a valve adjustment.
