Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation
did this today took about an hour with a angle grinder. No more timing belt slapping around like crazy with these cams and valvetrain noise has almost gone away. Its a new timing belt too. Still have to get some proper sized bolts for the ps bracket. Video after that last picture.

the back of the power steering bracket where it mates to the head. I'll take it apart and take some pictures and post them up later.

I never really been a fan of these... in theory your putting more stress on the auto tensioner... with a manual tensioner think it's a waste my 2 cents but nice install

The timing belt is rediculously tight with a manual tensioner installed anyway. Not sure why you need this?

Re: Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation
well i don't know what kind of setups you guys run but it did wonders for mine since im running crower stage 3 cams and rocketmotorsports springs. Before when the engine was cold the belt would flap around like a SOB(yes i did the timing belt tension process in the service manual) from exhaust cam gear to crank. It would tighten up a little bit when the engine heated but the engine was so sluggish. I don't have that problem anymore. Oh it also does not surge like a SOB too. I think i can tune the ignition timing more accurately now. I agree this product would be a waste of money if you ran stock cams but my engine is not anywhere near stock. Oh i also got this product for free...

You retard, this has nothing to do with increasing timing or tuning the car with.
All it does is puts more tension on your belt. The only advantage you'll see out of this is if your timing belt is loose for whatever idiot reason you may have, an OEM tensioner is more than enough. This garbage is literally a waste of money.

Re: Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation
increases timing because timing belt slap is gone... have you ever tried to leave the timing belt cover off and watching the timing belt?

Re: Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation
the product is for getting rid of the slap
and it works really good at doing that
also probally makes the car less likely of jumping a tooth!!!
kinda like a greedy timming belt lol,,,,,
on a stock not car not driven hard it's just something nice
on a car with head milled to the max when the slap is defentiually there
and ur takeing it to 8.5-9k w slicks then this is one more insurance poliacy you can add
it is a good thing

Re: Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation
i will try to post pics of what to cut off the ps bracket later today. Yea with these cams and having the timing cover off its pretty bad watching the timing belt flap around. has anyone watched the video at the bottom of the op? will try to post a better video as well. Been driving my gf around all weekend and still no problems.
