TPS and IACV
Do the idle air control valve and TPS work together to control the idle. I was just wondering because I fixed one problem with my car that was the alternator was bad and not charging the battery but now i cant get rid of the idle surge still... The IACV is new and was throwing a P0505 code check everything and twice. So I was just wondering if the tps affect the IACV because when I put my finger over the iacv hole i can feel it openeing and closing while its doing the stupid idle.

Re: TPS and IACV (hondastrtracr)
I also forgot to mention that when I unplug the TPS while the idle is bouncing it stops... but it then just idles kinda high about 2000 rpm...

you should check your FIAC (fast idle air control) right below the tb. if the rpm goes up and down then that is your problem. plug the lower hole inside your tb, if the surging up and down stop then it's the FIAC.

Re: (hulk_22)
That baby is brand new just spend over 250 for it at the dealer... Could it be that it is just defective. I cant blow another 250 to find out. What systems are involved in the Idle control system... I am guessing there is more to the system then just the valve itself...
