Default Temperature Gauge

i just got my thermostat replaced recently and my coolant flushed. now after 10 mins of driving i get one bar on the temp gauge and it stays like always until i turn off the car. but befor i replaced my thermostat and got my coolant flushed i would get one bar only when sitting in traffic and when i satrt driving again going may be 50-60 kms the temp bar goes down and only comes back up when i'm at idle.
is having the temp gauge bar 1/4 way normal and what temp does your guys cars read when driving on daily basis. Thanks

it's 96 motor swap on a 94 body , yes the fans do turn right after the first bar lights up on the temp gauge

Make sure your Engine Coolant Temperature switch is plugged in correctly on the thermostat housing cover.

yep it's connected and coolant level is good to , i was just wondering what your guys temp guages were at with a mixture hard and normal driving on a daily basis , and if having the temp guage 1/4 way is alright driving all the time.

Mine is at 1/2 mark when motor is in normal operation temp. Never had it just stay at 1/4 mark and not go up after that.
I've heard that if you use Water Wetter that your gauge could read false temps, but that's just what i've heard.

My H23 did that, at least when it was colder out, like snowstorms I had almost no heat. I replaced the thermostat and bled the system, and its been fine ever since, and is fine with the H22 now as well.
You may want to check what thermostat got put in the car, it may be a low temp model so the car doesnt heat up properly?
