My 1998 Prelude has 162k miles on it. I highly assume that it is still using stock OEM spark plug wires. Do you guys recommend me buying a new set of NGK wires while I replace my spark plugs?

Good question. I think it's about time mine should be changed. They are looking cracked and discolored - they are Honda wires. Do aftermarket "big" wires make a difference with a 'lude? I have an H22A1.

no, the factory ignition can actually support a good amount of hp and really only needs to be replaced as maintainance or when you want to "bling" your engine bay.

after running that many miles on those plug wires, your engine will likely run smoother.

Yep, stay with NGKs. The fitment and quality is awesome.

I had some $$$ Magnecors and they fit like crap.

Yep, they just 'sat' on top of the spark plug hole...didn't snap on or anything.

hear waaaaaaaaaaay too many horror stories about MSD.

I'm actually looking to buy new plug wires tomorrow for my 97 base...I dont need anything larger than stock MM...but i'm just curious as if I should just pick up plugs from advance auto/pep boys/ autozone or get one from majestichonda (OEM)

I probably wont keep the car longer than a year...but I dont want to get something shitty for it.

Instead of the PZFR6F-11 Platinum plugs get the ZFR6F-11 copper NGK plugs. They won't last as long as the platinum plugs but they will do everything else. Only reason Honda used the platinum tipped ones in the Prelude was because they wanted the spark plugs to lask 100K+ The platinum ones are like $20 from a dealer and the cheapst i found online was $11.

honestly even autolite plugs will do, just tune your car for them, jd3jdm's 250+whp h22 runs autolite plugs, a set is like $8....

Look bud, just because you've had a good experience with them means nothing. Most people I've encountered that use MSD have problems.

Trust me, you are definitely in the minority.

didn't someone just post problems with their MSD wires always popping off and causing the distributor to run hard which is blowing out his coil.

and then ppl are responding by saying the wires are popping off.
