Default Something every Lude owner might want to know.

Notice anything familiar with the engine specs of these vehicles?

S2000 S2000 CR Engine Type In-Line 4-Cylinder In-Line 4-Cylinder Engine Block/Cylinder Head Aluminum-Alloy Aluminum-Alloy Fiber-Reinforced Metal (FRM) Cylinder Walls Standard Standard Displacement (cc) 2157 2157 Horsepower @ rpm (SAE net) 237 @ 7800 237 @ 7800 Torque (lb-ft @ rpm) 162 @ 6800 162 @ 6800 Redline (rpm) 8000 8000 Bore and Stroke (mm) 87.0 x 90.7 87.0 x 90.7 Compression Ratio 11.1:1 11.1:1 Valve Train 16-Valve DOHC VTEC® 16-Valve DOHC VTEC®

These also...................

The 2.0L (1998 cc) K20 engines have 86 mm (3.39 in) bore and 86 mm (3.39 in) stroke. The 2.2L (2157 cc) version has 87.0 mm (3.43 in) bore & 90.7 mm (3.57 in) stroke.
Found in:

* Honda Civic Mugen RR Advanced Concept
o Displacement: 2,157 cc (131.6 cu in)
o Power: 260 PS (256 hp/191 kW) @ 8250 rpm
o Torque: 237 N·m (175 lb·ft) @ 6750 rpm
* Honda Civic Mugen RR (Honda ABA-FD2)
o Displacement: 1,998 cc (121.9 cu in)
o Compression: 11.7:1
o Power: 225 PS (222 hp/165 kW) @ 8000 rpm
o Torque: 218 N·m (161 lb·ft) @ 7000 rpm
o Redline: 8400 rpm

So basically they are saying that HONDA made a major mistake when they discontinued the H22A. It kinda makes you wander if all this will make Honda produce another "version" of the H22 in something else since they discontinued the S2000 also........ Maybe i Need to add cams, valvetrain and higher compression to my 22 and see what it does S

Im not 100% sure what your point is but its pretty well known that the h22 and S2000 engine are very similar.

My point is the civic RR and the s2000 have h22's. So they might actually make another prelude.

I doubt it. Honda is so hell-bent on going completely green that I think the Civic Si will be discontinued in the next 2-3 years.

That said, they are bringing back the CRX but calling it the CRZ. It's almost identical to the 91 CRX Si, with about 120hp, and it's a hybrid.

No they don't.

The H22 is an ancient engine by now, and certainly not being made anymore. The S2000 has the almost as dead F20C/F22C and the Civic uses a K-series.

the f20c & f22c are a beast of their own. while they certainly have things in common with the h-series, there are also many attributes that put them in the f-series family, which are both extinct. a return of the prelude is always a possibility, but unlikely in the near future considering the economy. if honda has ridiculous money to spend on a test bed, it may return, but my guess is they will finish the successor to the nsx before a prelude comes back.

The only thing that one can hope for, to see Honda remake the prelude, is....

If Honda eventually goes like ford, and starts making crap, and their best effort is to keep remaking cars from 30 and 40 years ago. *Cough* *Mustang* *cough*

Very much doubt it

Wtf? The S2000 and the Civic RR both have engines extremely different as well as alot better/more advanced than the ancient H22. Honda isn't regretting discontinuing the H22, not sure where in the hell you're getting that lolz.

discontinued the S2000???? they are still making it, hell its on their website, and parked in front of the dealer in town.

and yea im sure the "prelude" will come back, but it will be a RE-NAMED high performance good handling coupe.

i will disagree with the statements of the H22 being ancient engines, they have variable valve lift, very good flowing heads, and produce allmost 200HP from a N/A engine stock! thats a lot to say compared to other companies right now if you compare N/A stock engines

chevy, ford, and dodge V8's are ancient engines...

just my 2 cents

The S2000 is discontinued, and has been confirmed for awhile now.

The "missing link" so to say is the motor that was run in the touring Accords, a H22 that had it's head flipped around so it spun the opposite direction. Completely NA and made some serious power.

The only thing the H22 and the F22c have in common is bore/stroke geometry and frm.

wtf are you guys talking about.. this thread is full of misinformation, someone please close this.

the only thing that the h22 and f20/22 have in common is the fact that both were made by honda.

lol, So wrong.. You think the K series makes power easy? Take a Chevrolet lsX and throw some mods on it. I promise you, you will change your mind
