Quarter panel patches?
Does anyone offer a quarter panel patch for the 4th gen? I need to know if I am going to have to make my own sheet metal to weld in or if I can buy them... thanks!! This rust above my rear wheels is ugly...

just find a junk yard with a nice qtr or make your own piece. remember, not to use aluminum b/c steel + aluminum = crazy corrosion.
use a galvanized piece of steel. make sure you cut all of the rust out of the car. and when all's said and done, don't be suprised if the patch job only lasts 5 years if you live in a shitty area.
i'm sick of this qtr panel ****. i fixed one qtr panel, painted my car, and the other side is rotting now. i think someone with a lot of composites knowledge should make fiberglass/carbon fiber qtr panel outer skins to replace the originals.
btw, you can buy replacement qtr's (the whole thing) at hondaautomotiveparts.com and i believe slhondaparts.com for like 400-500. a lot of money, but u know it won't rust for awhile.

Any idea on what a good price for a used qtr panel would be from a junk yard? I need one too for the rear driver side wheel. And how easy is it to remove the old qtr panel? Any welding invloved, because I am pretty sure that the panel needs to be cut from the frame (?)
not trying to jack your thread or anything, but I am trying to come up with some way (thought about a patch job)

Yeah pics would be great too if you can....may have to search around here for a qtr panel myself. Also, pls let us know how much you paid for the panel so we can gauge what kind of price to look for.

Re: (NoVALude)
most junkyard panels are rotted out. sometimes it's visible, sometimes not. most junkyards will charge u full price of the panel even if you want just have them cut a little piece.
it's also a lot of work to take out and weld in a completely different panel.

sounds like alot of people have this problem... here are some pics of it starting... dunno how it got on the trunk lid btw, and yes, someone did repaint the car, and he did a shitty job of masking too.. I would have removed those lights and mud flaps, oh well, some people just dont care..
