PICKED UP MY 2001 PRELUDE SE!!! and disabling daytime running lights...
I finally picked up my brand spanking new 2001 Prelude SE, electron blue pearl, last nite. Paid for it in full 2-3 weeks ago but have been too busy lately with work to pick the car up. Car had 32 km when i picked it up last nite. It now has 89 km when I dropped it off today (wed) at a stereo/alarm shop to have a stereo system/alarm/starter installed. So no car until Fri afternoon.
At any rate, I would like to be able to get rid of the annoying daytime running lights. DRL is mandatory here in Canada it seems. I personally hate DRL. How do I get rid of it? I noticed that in the owner's manual, in the fuse box diagram, there are two fuses. One's called daytime running light and the other one is called daytime running light unit. What's the difference???????? If I pull those two fuses out, will the DRL be disabled??? Any effect on other fuses or devices in the car????????

Why disable them? Just because you think they are annoying, they are there to help others see you and to keep them from hitting your brand new prelude.. I wish I had them in mine, but I just keep my marker lights on all the time..

Why would it be hard for people to see me in broad daylight??? It's not like I'm camoflouged or anything...
Doesn't the DRL uses the bulbs you use for headlights?? which means if i put in PIAA's H1's, they will burn out faster.?

Yeah, he can disable them if he wants, but studies have shown that having them reduce the chance of daytime headon collisions by a pretty good percentage.
Sorry man, I'm not making that up. The Swiss started it, ran studies, and showed that DRL's work... so the rest of the world did studies, agreed, and most of them picked up on it.
But do what you will...
