Oil capacity

Oil capacity
I've had a 1999 prelude for some time now and it's said to use 5.1 quarts. I just purchased a used 1999 Acura TL and the info I'm getting is to use 4.7 quarts.
How can a 2.2L need 5.1 quarts and a 3.2 only need 4.7 quarts of oil???

The DOHC VTEC system probably explains a lot of that. I don't think the v6 has balancer shafts which I believe take oil. Also the engineers could have designed the oil pan to hold more for various reasons.

haha a chevy trailblazer is a 4.2L and takes 7qts. some bmws and cadillacs take 8 qts, and they are usually around 4.0L. the older honda accords 2.2L, only take 3.4qts.
engine displacement has absolutely nothing to do with oil capacity.
