I don't think the F20B compression height is correct. If it was the pistons would stick out of the hole .019"

btw: I'm working on a F/H compression calculator. And with all this info (given it is all correct) should give us the missing piston CC numbers.

here's what I have so far.
H22A4 = -1.4
H22A = 2.3
H23A = -1.3
H23A1 = -10.4
F22A1 = -15.5
F22A4 = -15.5
F23A1 = -13.6
F23A4 = -13.6
F23A5 = -18cc
F20B = ?

did some checking with my dohc f22 tonight.

first, this engine was reman'ed in japan (didn't know that when i purchased it), but has all factory parts including bearings and pistons. bore is .010" over. i cleaned the chamber with a toothbrush and carb cleaner, but a very slight amount of carbon may still affect the results.

chamber=52cc
pistons were cc'd in the block (used indicator to find tdc, then dropped them .100" down in the bore, cc'd, subtracted .100" worth of stroke ccs)=9cc dish SUSPECT (don't trust this yet)... GONNA DOUBLE CHECK AS IT SHOULD BE 6.4, I THINK.
two more things: pistons stuck out of the deck .017" and gasket was .048" thick<-!.

hey pirate, i was a little afraid that some machining had been done (though it could be duff still stuck in the chamber displacing the odd cc)... did you cc the pistons and check deck hieght in the block by chance? i'd be alot more confident of this short block if it matched what someone else has seen. thanks.

I think pirate just got the F22B head, not the whole engine

here's the compression ratio calculator so far...

http://www.bsperformance.com/compcalc/compcalc.htm

let me know what else you want to see. Its easier to add new stuff in groups than 1 thing at a time.

You might want to add an adjustable deck height for those that wish to use deck plates etc... just a thought. Looks good though!

I use Zealautowerks calculator among others.

you can just change the piston to deck height if that is the case.

Hi,

Can anyone please post specs on EuDM H22A5 engine (if anyone has them at all) or maybe a link on where I could fing them. The main thing I'm concerned about is the main journal diameter. I was thinking about putting an H23 crank with rods in, however, I don't know if my main journal diameter is 50 or 55mm.

Thanks

While we are updateing this stuff, I would suggest adding info on the pressed vs. floating pins: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=900446

i was wondering what the unit of measurement is for the following:

Deck Height
H22A4 Block = 8.643

Block Bore
H22A4 Block = 87mm/3.425

Rod Length
H22A4 = 5.633

Compression Height
H22A4 = 1.221

I'm sorry if it seems blatantly obvious to some...maybe im just having a brain fart.

yes you can, look at the measurements

note that the bushings on the piston end are different, so you may want to also use the 98 pistons

Are these verified yet? I used the zealworks calculator and their numbers were a little different. I'm looking for the jdm h22a specifically.

the zeal auto works one is not right, any info they didn't have they just put 0 in for.. obviously their calculator is a work in progress.

yeah it seemed a little sketchy, came out to around 13:1 compression but some of that could be my fault as I havent cc'd my head yet, so I was guesstimating
