new auto tensioner kit
Just wandering if any one has any experience with the newer improved auto tensioner kit from honda. The part number is 06144-P13-305. Im assuming it would be better off then the original ones, which are known to fail. Just need some clarification. Also when replacing the belt on an h22a. is there a tensioner pulley that needs to be replaced also besides the timing belt, and auto-tensioner? Or is it just those 2.
peace,

I would recommend going with an H23 manual tensioner assembly.
otherwise the kit is the t-belt and the autotensioner itself..I don't think it would include the pulley. you should also be doing your water pump

yeah ive heard of a lot of peeps going to the manual tensioner. But from what i understand; The kit comes with an auto-tensioner that was suppossed to be an improvement. I did intend on changing the water pump as well as the pulley also. Yeah i know the kit doesnt include the pulley, just found that out like a sec ago. thanx for the help guys

17k miles with the new auto-tensioner. But 164k before that with no probs. However, my setup is stock now. I will not be trusting the auto after changing head/cams.

if you're stock sure I guess....but how many times must it fail before you switch? It's slightly more expensive I think I haven't looked up prices lately but I got mine off an old h23 for $40...peace of mind
