Default Need advice on what is best intake for my 96 h22

Intakes are cheap on ebay, so considering doing this first, my first question is what is better for performance, the carb legal or illegal intake system? Is it easy to install myself? and what is short ram intake? Sorry if the questions seem stupid, i'm just trying to figure out what is best intake to buy. And is there a noticible increase in power with an intake, and how does it sound?

You live in California, so might as well get something CARB Legal.

Short Ram = Air filter is in Engine Bay
Pro: Little chance of water getting in.
Con: Sucks in hotter air from engine bay.

Cold Air = Air Filter is Down Below
Pro: Sucks in cooler dense air from outside for better performance.
Con: In rain, if it sucks up water, you can hydrolock and ruin your engine.

If you want to get technical, cold air's don't make more power due to air temp, they make it due to harmonics (the path the air travels to the TB). You will not see a big difference in hp between the 2. I say short ram (I got mine for $90 shipped on ebay, carb legal) because the cold air is more than 2x the price.

Also, a SRI can be installed without punching holes in anything. For the CAI on the prelude (at least on the 4th gen) you have to make a hole under the bottom of the airbox.
