My JDM h22a
Hi guys.
I own a 94 honda prelude h22a and I just recently swapped it.
I put a stock p13 in and it redlines at 6500 no vtec.
After that I put a p28 and it redlines at 7500 no vtec.
The check engine light is on and I was wondering if y'all know anything about this?
I really need major help because vtec is not engaging and when I hit 4000 rpm the car began to be very loud.
Any help thanks.

Re: My JDM h22a
oil level/pressure is also important. vtec requires numerous signals to function. like above check the p13 it may provide important clues. the cel plug is behing the radio cluster. its blue and hard to miss

Re: My JDM h22a
take it somewhere that actually knows about Hondas. its too hard to get these kinds of issues worked out on the web. You may check on the VTEC solenoid,VTEC pressure switch, temp sending unit. You need to first find out what code your P13 is throwing.if you can't find your connector for the check engine light ,please stop now.
Yeah, I want to take it to the shop, but I dont know which one. I am searching for some that REALLY i mean REALLY knows about Prelude and H series.

pull your radio/bezel assembly out and its on the bottom left held on by a plastic screw that you can rip off. the plug is blue you cant miss it.

Re: My JDM h22a
The original motor is an h23a non vtec.
From what I see, the firewall have this vtec plug that isnt plug to anything.
So, I decide to plug it to vtec with a oil line from vtec to the blue wire from a
harness that is kind of a sky blueish.

Re: My JDM h22a
Also, you may have too hard wire in the vtec oil pressure switch as some H22a's do not come with them. That's what I did until my pressure switch comes.

Re: My JDM h22a
That's where the map sensor was on my H22a. I just used my TB off of my H23 because you also have a map sensor on your firewall. So, basically you have two map senosrs right now.
