Have a major oil leak , looks like its coming from the oil pressre switch area. My question is, will the pressure switch leak oil when it goes bad? and also I got a knock sensor code #23 this morning on the way to work, dont know why it would throw that code unless knock sensor bad??? Has anyone had the same problem?

I don't mean for this to sound stupid, but make sure that the oil pressure switch isn't loose. It shouldn't leak just because it's bad, if it were bad you should have an oil light on. I really don't see the oil pressure switch causing a huge oil leak though, look to see if the oil isn't coming out up by the oil filter.

I was about to put this same thing. I replaced mine literally half an hour ago. No leaks at all. Mine puked up 2-3 quarts int he time it took it to warm up in the morning. It'll cost you $2.30 or so at a Honda dealer.

I fell victim to that too, it was driving me crazy since I thought it was the line going to the oil pressure gauge that came with the car leaking. Get it done asap, when mine finally went, I started the car and the oil pressure wasn't holding. Shut the car off after a few seconds and saw a few quarts running down the driveway. it's an easy fix, pull the oil filter off. Use a large socket (30mm I think) to get the stud out and the oil cooler o-ring comes right out (usually in pieces as mine was). Clean the area well, throw the new one up with some hondabond holding it in place and you're good to go 15min $2-3 fix. hth.

It is a 30mm, and if yours is half as bad as mine was, you will prolly come out from under the car looking like somethign from a horror movie.

Sorry for the double post but I have this same problem I have a 98 lude auto I was wondering if it was still the oil cooler in the 5th gens.

It's as good a place as any to start. If you have a big piece of cardboard and are brave, put a couple quarts of cheapo oil in there and lay the cardboard down and lay under there while your buddy starts the car. If it's the Oil cooler you'll see it coming out of there, and you'll be able to tell where it's coming from even if it's not that. (You're going to get covered in oil fixing this problem, anyway, so you may as well start it off with a bang, right?)

Oh yeah, I tried to black that part out lol. Mines wasn't as bad since I did an oilchange while I was in there.

I have this same problem on my ex-wife's Lude. It's always leaked and could never figure out where it was coming from. So I resorted to some redneck, try to get your self killed tactics. Started the car and got under it and watched the blood flow. It was leaking around the sensor under the oil filter. Not from the filter or cooler feeds. Although I figure while I am replacing the sensor I will go ahead and replace this o-ring. But it is definitly leaking from around the sensor. I wiped everything down to make sure it was dry and then started and it was not pretty. So My question here is what is the sensor? Is it infact the oil pressure sensor?
