Re: LOud Exhaust (BB2_SI)
Jdm h22a
stock jdm header and downpipe
fleabay cat
apexi N1
LOUD is an understatment.
Anything below engagment isnt That loud but holly **** it gets really fn loud.
98vtec's is loud in his videos, his sounds good and hauls(rmf )
Check out the offical prelude exhaust thread for some sound clips of many exhausts.

Re: LOud Exhaust (SteveoBA8)
when I did my first h22 I had to run open header for a day. when I did my second prelude I had to run no cat and a resonator for about a week.
I think both of those where the loudest h22s I have heard.

Re: (InvaderTrax)
I have a Skunk2 on a completely stock 5th gen (not for long ) and i think it really loud especially on long trips. My girlfriend says she can hear me in her house when i turn on to her street, witch i would say is a couple of blocks away.

except for open exhaust ports who needs a header anyway.
that would be interesting to hear

If you plan on running without a resonator, your exhaust is going to sound like ***. You'll get the stereotypical "angry bees" sound and everyone on the road will laugh at you for being a stupid ricer
A good resonator will cause you to lose 1whp or less compared to straight pipe - use one!
I'd recommend this setup:
2.5" Magnaflow cat, 14" long stainless steel Magnaflow resonator (2.5" diameter), and a 2.5" Magnaflow or ES Tuning muffler. It would also be smart to buy a stainless steel 2.5" tubing kit from a place like kteller.com so that you have nice mandrel bent pipe to work with - all the exhaust shop has to do then is cut and weld. this should give you a moderately loud but smooth exhaust tone and should have enough flow to support any mods you could do to an H23.

I have an ES oval with a cat 2.5 inch piping, but no resonator. Its pretty loud. However every decent import enthusiest that I know really like the way my car sounds. The ES has a nice tone to it.

Re: (smo0th)
My lude was loud as hell when I first had it done I did a custom exhaust I had 2.5 in. cat back with a Apexi N1 style muffler and then I couldnt take the whiney raspy bumble bee sound anymore so a week later got a magnaflow resonator put on and it sounds GREAT!!!! I love it not to loud but jus right and perfect tone to it
