Default loose timing belt -searched

i have a 01 prelude that i just put a new motor in (water+cai=bad)and i was having my values adjusted at a different garage than who put the motor in. while they had my cover off they said my timing belt was very loose. so i took it back to the garage that just did my swap and they said it was fine. how loose should it be?

Just adjust it with the tensioner if it is a manual one.

After loosing the acorn nut on the tensioner let the tensioner and spring do all the work... tension should be on the pull side and slack should be on the tensioner side. Do this at TDC... to check you should be able to bend the timing belt 90 degrees so that it is facing you with your fingers. If its really easy or goes past that its to loose. If its ridiculously hard then its to tight.

Timing belts can be a pain but for a honda its all in the tensioner so you shouldnt have to do anythin major for adjustment.

what type of motor was put in ? JDM ? USDM ? eaither way, it has an auto tensioner. Maybe you should replace it before it takes a fat **** on you. Manual conversion or buy a new auto.
