help me choose transmission
hi there
I have a h22a4 engine with built top end (porting, hythech headers, complete s2 valvtrain with pro2, gears, etc)
but I don't have a good transmission : 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.344 - 1.034 - 0.787 no lsd
I can have 2 transmission :
#1
3.307 - 1.956 - 1.360 - 1.071 - 0.812
completely rebuilt, quaife lsd
#2
t2w4 stock
car will be used as daily driver, not much highway mileage, will be used about 10-20 times per year for time attack, will be used in winter and snow.
I was also wondering if the lsd in m2b4 is same as the one in t2w4 ? is the one in t2w4 more aggressive ?
thx
Alex

Re: help me choose transmission
IM in the market right now for a good lsd trans cause my quaife m2y4 blew a hole out the side of the diff casing.
Anyways, all the prelude/accord jdm trans have helical lsds which are gear based and maintenance free. and they are all the same lsd I would imagine.
I asked the guy to compare to quaife and he said its a stock honda lsd, it cant compare to a aftermarket UPGRADE.. so there ya have it. but some lsd is better than no lsd.
Here is the current market for trans from hmotors, all for 150 shipped half way across the US.
M2B4 - $1000
T2T4 - $800
T2W4 - $1400
for the price the M2B4 has shorter gears 1,3 and 5 is best for gas mileage.
but i don't like the price as much, although i might end up getting it...

Re: help me choose transmission
I'd get the T2W4, shortest 1-4 and same .512 5th for highway. If the LSD wears you could always replace it with an aftermarket unit. The T2W4 SUPPOSEDLY has more durable synchro's but I haven't cracked mine open to look for myself.
