Why? Because you bought some cheap wannabe spoon chip off eBay probably.
Get a different chip first off.
Second off - why is the redline at 8,500?
Third - of course the chip is the problem with the MIL light.
Get a different chip - or ecu. Enough said.

i think in the p28 u can delete the Knock Sensor.. the EGR .. only thing that sucks is that on the p28 u can only run a single intake manifold system.. instead of the butterflies..
I read it a import mag somewhere.. u lose like 10hp i think..

Get a chipped p72 ecu. Throw away that ebay junk - because itll just cause problems. A real chip would cost way more than ebay crap.
what mods do you have?

u dont need a p72, just get a p28 u dont lose hp because u dont have butterflies, and yes u do lose the knock sensor but thats pointless, its like having a "motor just blew" sensor... as for the redline with your mods u dont really need that high of a redline, i think h22s drop off after 8000 but to each their own

youre retarded draxxus....honda would never put a sensor on the block to detect a blown motor.....
the knock sensor "listens" for pinging, or detonation on a smaller scale.....when you are exploding a bit early, due to odd timing and fuel issues in the low rpms, the knock sensor helps the ecu adjust timing in order to minimize pinging and detonation....
p72=good
without butterflies you will lose no top end hp, unless you took the plate out, then you will lose a few horse...but you lose a lot of low end w/o butterflies....get a p72....
7800 is the highest you could possibly want to go.....
