H22 Timing Tensioner
KAIZENSPEED’s new H22 Timing Tensioner directly replaces the stock H22
auto tensioner and eliminates the annoying H23 manual tensioner
conversion.
The stock H22 automatic tensioner, also called a hydro tensioner is known
for premature failure, causing bent valves at the least.
The H22 Timing Tensioner eliminates the need for an H23 manual tensioner
conversion. Instead of spending your time reading how-to articles, this
tensioner allows you to simply remove two bolts and replace your failed
tensioner with one that can never fail!
Never use H23 manual tensioner conversion parts again!
For nearly a decade now, all of us H22 guys have had the problem of failed
auto/hydro timing belt tensioners. I’ve seen the stock H22 auto tensioner
fail more times than I can count. Brand new, OEM tensioners often fail in
a matter of months, leaving you dead in the water with bent valves.
In the old days, we would use the H23 manual tensioner parts, which had a
host of annoyances. Installation was time consuming and there are a lot of
little parts involved in the conversion. The H23 tensioner spring can come
off it’s post and get chewed up by the timing belt. And most importantly
the H23 tensioner pulley was larger which made installing the timing belt
a real pain!
CNC machined from billet aluminum with a hardened tension rod and jam nut.
The custom-made adjustment wrench included with each tensioner makes for
an easy, five minute installation during a timing belt change

Such a simple idea Very nice, respect for your work.
But I will use h23 kit, because for 89$ you get brand new OEM gears and spring, witch you have to change either way (I mean when you change belts, water pump etc.).

Wow. Thats great timing. I had no idea that the h22 timing part was known to fail. I just bought a new one, but I have not put it on yet. I think I may look into putting kaizenspeed's part on instead.
I know it is pretty new, but is there anyone out there who has used this part already? Is there any reviews yet on the part?

okay... seriously wtf. It's like all the pain in the *** OEM issues for H22's magically all got solved in the last 6 months right after I just bought new OEM **** lol. Seriously considering redoing my timing belt with this even though i just put a new auto tensioner in.

Mine were just converted to the H23 at the beginning of '11 ... damn it!
Nice looking product though! I may have to convert back when I change timing belts again.

Sweet product; nice to see people still developing for the H.
Hmm, still have the h23 tensioner conversion parts from KS sitting in their box untouched; anybody want to buy them?

Already ordered mine, be spring before the motor is up and running though. Its sitting on the stand with h23 tensioner conversion, and a new auto tensioner sitting next to it. Time for some comparisons once it comes in the mail.

Re: H22 love from kaizenspeed
Ugh.... of course. 2 months after I get my Civic back from the shop I find this gem. I picked up the H23 tensioner kit wayyy back, installed it and had all sorts of issues once I got the motor running (belt walking off etc) Ended up going backwards and buying all H22 auto tensioner parts from Honda to just get the car running properly.
Found it on their website, saved it, and will be buying soon. Thanks!
