fast idle control valve question???????
my car was recently idleing way to high and i was doing a little reading and read that i might have to tighten the FICV i looked and sure enough the valve had backed itself all the way out i tightened it until it was snug but now when i start my car its doesnt idle high enough and antifreeze is coming out of the hose that runs from the thermostat to the FICV did i tighten it to much or is it just bad?

the screw can't be all the way in, a touch of air needs to enter valve. your idle should be 750 with stick or 700 with automatic. as far as fluid goes thats something else (line is brokent somewhere or damaged) if you did tighten it too much pull it off, if lines still long enough cut off damagaed part, and reclamp it. make sure clamp is about 2-3 mm away from end of hose to insure proper clamping, and don't crank the **** out of it. Snug it up, then give it a quarter to half extra turn of torque.

that is what i did do. the hose leaking seems to be because the atifreeze isnt circulating through the valve and its building up too much pressure.
