Default DipStick shows no oil, No oil lights

93lude vtec; Rececently changed my oil about couple weeks ago, checked the dip stick where two dots are high and low. I took it out and it seems to have some oil layin around the stick and wiped it, put back into the hole and took it back out and the dry tip was never touched with oil. Even i let the car sit for hours after driving, it still shows no oil on the stick. The oil lights doesnt turn on. I thought it was empty and pour another 1 1/2 quart and it's still the same. Have this ever happen to anyone?

Sounds like you are low on oil, i would fill it up.....

The oil light is for low pressure, and i dont think you were low enough that the pickup wasnt fully submersed, so i think your ok. Just fill it and check it often.

if you accidentally switched dipsticks and didnt notice you are foolish....

if you get a shop to build your motor and they cant figure out what dipstick to put in you are foolish....

if you dont push the damn thing down the whole way to read it you are very foolish.....

Are you measuring your oil on a slope? If not parked on flat surface, do so.

I doubt this is the case, but, take out the dipstick housing and check to see that it isn't clogged up with muck. If there's enough crap in the dip stick housing, it could wipe the oil clean before you pull it all the way out.

the dip stick seems pretty correct for it's kind. I already have it park flat surface. When change oil and pour 5 quarts, it doesnt show full but just 1/4 of the dipstick.
Can this mean my oil are not circulating around and back into my oil pan?

I would either go get a new dipstick or change the oil and check again when you know that there are 4-5 qts in there
