Cone Filter VS Airbox
Ok I have a question that I need some help with. I just put in a cone air filter (the kind that replaces the stock airbox). I installed it right over top of where the airbox was. After a number of tests it seems the factory air intake may be a little quicker. I talked with some friends and they said that it probably is because although I'm taking more air in with less resistance, i'm taking in hot air around the engine compartment rather than taking the cooler air from inside the fender. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this, and if so - how much HP am I gaining / loosing with the two filters?

Re: Cone Filter VS Airbox (Flyboy)
If you want to stick to the setup you have, fabricate a box around the filter that will seal when the bonnet is closed, and then run a pipe from the front of the car to the hole under the filter.....you'll probably need to remove the resonator to do so....check ntpog.org on how to do this
