Common oil leaks on h22a motor
#3
Re: (chitownrida)
When i purchased my Motor it had oil leaks from the rear main seal, VTEC Solenoid, Cam Seals and the Oil Cooler. The VTEC solenoid leak was running down the back of the motor and covering it all up in oil. Do you have any idea at all where it could be coming from?

Re: Common oil leaks on h22a motor (MugenHonda)
I had a pretty extreme oil leak before I pulled my old motor (like a leaky faucet) and it turned out it was the oil pressure switch located on the back of the motor. I had oil everywhere. Hope that helps some.

I had some oil pan baffles welded into the oil pan, and years later one of the welds started leaking. Strange.
Are you sure it's motor oil? Any chance it's the tranny?

the oil pan gasket on the 4g preludes is pretty bad about sealing, the 5g aluminum one is way better, check that also.
if you can't find anything else, always consider that it could be a headgasket leak, especially if its in the corner.

it would have been easier to find with the motor in the car and running...you can usually find them easily if you wipe down the motor and let it idle while looking for the sepage...
