- Car Won't Shift Into Gear -
'97 Prelude ...
I can run through my gears when the car is off, but once I turn on the car, it won't go into gear. If I put it into 1st gear while the car is off I can take off, but when I go to shift its hard to take out of 1st and then won't go into 2nd or any other gear for that matter.
Is it my pressure plate?, clutch cable?, ???
If anyone has any info I would more than welcome any help.
Thanks

It's could easily be your clutch being worn out. I would check your clutch fluid level first, and your master cylinder for leaks. If those are ok then i would think that its either the clutch disk, throwout bearing, or pressure plate.
If you need a good oem replacment for a good price, checkout cluthcity.com and get the EXEDY clutch kit for your car.
Good luck
edit... I forgot to mention that you should check your tranmission fluid level, just in case. though i think if it was the tranny, you wouldn't get it into gear by just turning the car off. still doens't hurt to be sure
