Brake lights not working (searched)
Well, I have been driving my car for about a week now and last night I found out none of my brake lights are working.
I checked all the bulbs, fuses (I think), etc..
The "stop horn" fuse is good
tried all new bulbs and that is not the problem
Are there any other fuses for just the brake lights? What could the problem be?
FYI - My search uncovered info for the fuse and testing for power (I am getting no power when I hit the brakes, at least I am pretty sure anyway)

You're missing a dead plug!
Get under there and manually press the switch and see if you get power. Maybe your pedal just isn't hitting the switch?

LMAO - I wish this one was that simple.
I am going to try and mess with the brake switch a little today.

Pop the harness off that brake switch, and get out your multimeter
One of the wires on it should have power at ALL times, even with no key in, theres only 4 wires, so that shouldn't be hard to find
If you don't have power post back, because I'll take a look at the helms diagrams and figure out the problem from there
But if you do have power, try plugging it back in and manually pressing the switch down, the pedal has a little waxy-plastic stopper thing that presses the button on the switch, that could be missing, or the switch could be bad..
I don't remember now but one day I spent some time messing with this circuit on my brother's civic, which should be the same on preludes, I really wish I would document this stuff....
either way you can easily figure out what pins the switch "switches" when pressed, once you do, find the pins on the connector that correlate to the switched pins (I believe there are two), and then just jump those two wires and see if the lights come on
Geez I wish I could remember all the wires, but I believe the wires out to the taillights are green, there is a grey wire that goes to the cruise control, and then the power in, and possibly a ground in, though I keep thinking that it relies on its mount for ground, bc those pedal brackets are grounded....

Re: (bb4ever)
I tested the wires and one does have constant power.
It appears though that the switch actuall works in reverse to me. As in when you press the pedal it closes the circuit to allow the lights to engage. The switch is activated by the pedal coming up. I am going to swap it with my other prelude switch and see what happens. be back in 5 min

Re: (MadCityLude)
OK - now I did some more testing with my test light and -
Yellow - constant power
2 Green wires - have power when switch is NOT depressed - no power when pressing switch
Gray wires never any power
So I am thinking of running new wire from my sensor harness to my taillights, but what color wires will I splice into at the tails?

Re: (MadCityLude)
There are fuses under the driver side and fuses under the hood as well. Not sure where the fuse is for the brake lights, but I know the headlight fuse is under the hood so I'd assume the brake light fuse is there too. Check those and see what's up. Also as suggested check to see if the lines are getting voltage.

Re: (94Vtecluder)
Fuse was fine - "small light" + "stop-horn"
Also checked all fuses again just to be sure. All Good on that note.
I ran new wire back to my taillights and they are working now.
Still no 3rd light - I will run a wire for those another time (gotta go to work now)
Thanks for the help
There must be a wireing problem with the stock so I just bypassed it.
