I've gotten in a accident and I recently taken it to a shop to get the frame and alignment done, on the way home, the car threw itself in neutral, then it won't even go pass 2nd gear or it downshifts by itself and when I parked and try to go in reverse it won't even do so. I think the shop may have flushed my transmission fluid without telling me, so a week later I refilled it, it ran for a little bit again, it went in reverse but the shifting is a bit rough to where the whole car jumps a little bit when it switches gear and it takes a while for the car to set itself in drive when I set it to it. What can be the problem? I don't think I need a new transmission if the car can still drive do I?

the 5gen auto trans is known to be pretty fragile

You should make it a 5spd now that you're having problems with the auto.

that's actually not a bad idea, I'd still like to know what's wrong with it though

There was no fluid in it? Call the shop and ask if the happened to change the tranny fluid.
