I have a 97 prelude with a seized engine. I am looking to replace the engine this winter, and also the transmission while we have the engine out. I have been able to find a jdm h22a obd2 + 5 speed trans. on http://www.jsamotors.com for around $2850 to my door. These obd2 motors have been tough for me to find when calling and surfing the web, the sales associates tell me they are tough to find and cant get them. If you guys know of anywhere please let me know. Also I dont want the type S because they are around 4k. Has anyone gone through http://www.jsamotors.com?

Which brings me to my next question. Will an earlier year h22a fit in my car without new motor mounts etc.? Are the internals of a jdm 92-96 h22a w/ obd1 & 97-01 jdm h22a w/ obd 2 the same? Can I use the obd2 parts +oil pump + crank sensor off my seized 97 h22a4 and transfer them to an earlier year 92-96 jdm h22a? For those of you that have JDM H22A's in your car, where did you get them, what did you pay etc.

I have never heard about that site, you may want to check with BBB or get more feedback from others that have used it.. I have heard lots of horror stories from Osaka so steer clear they tend to grind down serials and models so you dont really know what you get.. Yes you can take an OBD1 motor and convert it to OBD2 so you can pass smog, you might fail the visual due to the motor being older than the body. If all of your smog gear is in place they might not notice that it is a h22a, not h22a4. Yes you can rob all those parts from your h22a4 and put them on a h22a... Lots of people here get their motors from hmotorsonline.com.
