Default 96 Prelude - Accord Manual Compatibility?

Hi I'm looking to switch out the VTEC Manual with the Accord 5-speed because of the Accord 4.06 Final Drive.

Here's a pic of the code... Came from a 95' Accord...

What engine do you have currently in your prelude? If it's an h series that transmission will fit without issues.

Running H22A1 with M2F4...

I kinda like the idea of running the P2A8's 1st, 5th and final drive but have the shorter 2-4th...

Long first would be cool to 45mph then hit second would be a really quick burst lol

I don't know much on how to swap the gears and final drive or if it's possible?

I'm on 17" 205 40 17s but to match correct speedometer reading would need 225 40 17s since stock was 205 50 16 right? That's 24.07" by stock tire diamter. So that would bring 1st to 42mph at 7800rpm, 71 in 2nd, 101 in 3rd, 128 in 4th, and 201 in 5th.

That above would be reading correctly on the Speedometer. Right now my 205 40 17s give roughly 3-5mph showing slower than actual speed.

This site says at 7800rpm in 1st it'll do 41mph, 2nd will do 69mph, 3rd will do 99mph, 4th will do 125mph, 5th will do 196MPH ... lmao on the accords 1st and 5th and final drive...

With that config I'll do just 2800rpm at 70mph... at 75mph just 3000rpm, 85mph just 3400rpm... The speedometer will always be wrong if you're not using the same oem stock tire size.

It has nothing to do with the tranny, it's all about the tire size. There is a mathematical formula to tell how much the speedometer will be off when using non stock tires.

All of the gears in the Accord transmission will be taller, you're not paying attention to the final drive ratio, it affects all of the gears. The car will be much slower, top speed means nothing if it takes forever to get there, that transmission is for good fuel mileage, the car will feel sluggish.

The transmission however will bolt up, as far as gears being interchangeable, you'll have to just pull the transmission apart and measure to find out.
