All that oil, to me, Looks like it is excessive. I have stripped many blocks and have never seen that much oil on any of them. I could be mistaken but that definitely looks like there is way to much there.

OP : I can't remember off the top of my head what the sensor above
the oil filter is. If you haven't already get yourself a honda workshop
manual. It'll let you know the locations of everything and save you
a lot of time. There are free ones you can download. Check out
spoonertuner . com. The FAQ has heaps of info on lots of topics
too. On some F series engines the oil pressure sender is located above
the oil filter. I have a H23 so i cant be sure whats what on yours. Hope
thats of some help, goodluck with it all man.

This is the knock sensor. Very typical that they come apart after they've been on the car a few years. The plastic that the connector is made of becomes VERY brittle.
Oil pressure light switch. This switch is ground sensing. It's the switch that turns on the oil light in the gauge cluster. Grounds out at something very low like 7.5 PSI (IIRC), so if you oil light come on, you're already hosed.
Mine looked somewhat similar, but I had no problems getting all the bolts out.
What kind of filter is that? Mine had a PIAA filter installed. I was surprised, as PIAA doesn't sell filters over here in the States so I didn't realize that they had any.

@blackcat, thanks for the info I'll look into those.
@117, that's what I was thinking, thanks. And I'll look at the filter when I get a chance, that's what was already on it when I got it so idk. I thought it said Honda though.

I didn't realize how long it has been since I did any updates. Well by now I should have it finished but unfortunately I do not. I have made progress though. I have kept running into snags and have worked a lot so I haven't had a lot of time to do stuff. Here is where I am at now. Head is off the block and am doing some work to it. Replacing gaskets and looking it over has been the most of it. I also worked on the engine bay a little bit. Here are a few pictures of what I have got.
I did a little on covering up come various openings but decided not to get too involved at this time. I still need another coat on the firewall.
And that is where I am at so far. Hoping to get back on track. A question though.
I replaced the oil pan gasket and then was thinking the front and real seals while I am here. My neighbor suggested replacing the balancer shaft seals as well as the oil pump gasket since I already have it all apart anyway, and this was I can make sure it all looks ok. I wasn't planning on messing with the balancer shafts at this time. Are these seals simple enough to just do real quick I thought I has seen somewhere else that the balancer shafts can be a pain to mess with. There was some oil present on that side of the engine but I have since cleaned it off and cannot remember where it had originated from, not even sure if it was run off from somewhere else. Suggestions?

Well it has been a long time since I have updated, mainly because I never have time to get a lot done. Here are my progress pics up to now. The link is to the video of the first start up.

As you can see it RUNS. Still have some bugs to work out. Not everything is hooked up right now and when it runs it dies out after about 10 seconds. Like the pump cuts out. Like I said I don't have everything finished so its most likely cause of that. Just wanted to see if it would start. Its been a long time and i still have some way to go before its on the road but Im excited again.
