1995 Si Starting Problem
Hey guy. I recently got a 1995 Prelude Si and I've been having a lot of problems. For some reason the car always smokes out the back under load and I have trouble starting it when it's cold. Like cold motor and 70 degrees out. If its like 100 degrees out it starts pretty good. My problem is when in start it it will either run really rough and the run perfect after 10-15 seconds. Or it will start and die, start and die. Then I'll floor it, start it, it will rev very very slow. Then at around 3000 rpms it will start acting normal and run fine. I tried a compression test and shot 185-195-190-185. Also pressurized the cooling system to 15 psi to check for a head gasket leaks and it held 15 psi perfectly didnt fluctuate a bit. I'm beyond stuck with this problem. Two times it would even start and I had to pull the plugs out and dry them. Both times it was extremely your out and the car was tilted sideways on a hill. Idk I that matters. A lot my oil and plugs all all brand new and it drives 100% after it starts. Only CEL is for an 02 sensor.

Re: 1995 Si Starting Problem
Unplug the o2...your problem sounds like an overly rich condition, unplugging the o2 will rule out the sensor being bad. If it runs fine replace the sensor. If it doesn't, you have excess fuel being injected or leaking which is another issue.

And just basic plugs, wires, oil, and fuel filter.
