1992 Prelude Transmission Help
I'm new to all this and need help. I just bought my 17 year old a 1992 Honda Prelude SI, H23A1. It has a header, loud muffler and a cold air intake. Having fantasies of the Fast and Furious, he blew a gear through the side of the transmission about 20 minutes after he I gave it to him (3rd car he's totaled and or broken in some fashion or another in 18 months). The marking on the transmission he blew was M2S4. I have found two Honda transmissions at the local Pick-N-Pull marked H2U5 and P2A4, both out of Accords. Are these considered "F" series transmissions? Will they bolt up to my 1992 Prelude H23A1? Thanks!

Yeah, he wont be accelerating fast any where with those, maybe it'll teach him a lesson. If you wanted to though you shouldn't have much trouble finding another M2S4, most people discard them for a closer geared transmission.

Re: 1992 Prelude Transmission Help
if they're out of the accord....you may have to drill and tap the a tranny mount hole or 2. I blew my heavily abusd 240k mile m2s4 trans, replaced it with trans from a f23 accord. Bolts to the block just fine, reused the axles....but the accord trans mount has a slightly different bolt pattern. I had to drill the f23 trans and tap the holes. The hole locations are there, but unthreaded....or save urself the headache and get the mount found it also
