Today was my first time riding a bike!
So I finally was able to ride a bike, nothing to crazy though.
It was a Kawasaki 100 Dirt Bike. Holy expletive, this **** is fun as hell. Was just whipping it in an open field and around my friends neighbor hood, damn it was insane.
Took me a bit to get the shifting down, but man I can't get over how much fun it was.
Just thought you guys should know, now i'm DEFINATELY getting a bike

Slow down there buckeroo... there is much to consider other than if it is fun, as fun kind of goes without saying

This "fun" lasted longer.
For the longest time i've been considering a Ninja 250r, and I'm still pretty determined to get that. I mean if i'm having this much fun driving a 100, i'm sure i'll have fun driving a 250r, not only that its safe. Relatively speaking.
I went to a lot of bike shops today with some of my friends that are considering getting bikes (3 of us are learning, so) most stores tried to convince me to get a like a 500. 1 guy, told me i'd enjoy the 250 just as much

Thats what I figured.
If I had nerves riding a 100cc, then I think i'll be good with a 250r. There were times when I felt I was going WAY to fast. I guess its all experence though.
I'm definately more ready for the MSF course next month though.

just thinking of this since I had posted it earlier. I do consider sex to be more dangerous than riding motorcycles oddly enough. I know thats not the case for anyone else but for me personally i think so.

youll get used to the speed, for my first week id go 10mph down my own street. then next week i was goin 40 down the main road. then i just got on the highway for the first time last weekend, and just got comfortable with 65.
ive never ridden a dirtbike, the first bike i rode was my 550 suzy, and i dont feel it has too much power for me. mind you ive had it a month and think ive gone WOT maybe twice. but yeah.. once you start its the best thing in the world.

^^hey that happened to me too and the broad acted like i was some kind of freak haha
dirtbikes are nothing like streetbikes though.
i have a CRF250 and i thought it was quick until I got on a streetbike.
one of the huge differences is on the dirt there is quite a bit of wheel spin no matter what, where as on a streetbike there is very very little to non at all.

One of the stores we went to had one of those, my friend is like obessed with it now, hes like 5'5", and it was the only bike he could sit flat footed on . We're still all trying to figure out what to get.

I remember by first time riding a motorcycle. I had just bought a GS500, came home from school early, had my friend follow me in his car. I rode around the neighborhood, did all of 2 miles so. Got back to my house and saw my dad had just arrived back from work. My dad promptly walked out of the house and chewed me out for riding without an permit or endorsement lol...
Week later I got my permit and a month after took the MSF and got an endorsement...That first year of riding was by far the best year.

Well you wont get a nasty rash or bumps from just sitting in the saddle, thats for sure

LOL
Maybe. Crotch rash sometimes wont go away if the saddle was nasty enough, road rash just needs a skin graph after they brush out the rocks and glass.

Re: Today was my first time riding a bike! (D Day)
Yesterday was my first time. It was a friend's bike.
I laid it down doing 15.
Broke the shift ***.
Bruised up my arm, cut my forearm, and knots on my shin and knee.
Round two when he replaces the ***.

happens to everyone, i dropped mine going must have been 5-10 leaving my driveway the first time i was on. i guess i got lucky cause i just got a little cut on my elbow and palm, but the bike had fresh paint on it and now the cowl is scratched to hell. its ok though, crappy paintjob.
anyway. just take it slow, dont try anything stupid.
