Default rear brake on 04 gsxr problem

So i was riding to work today and press my rear brake and it seemed awfully soft, the pedal was just pressing in easitly wihtout really compressing the rear pads. I checked for any leakage of brake fluid, looked dry. What can be wrong.???

Pads could be worn, low on brake fluid, air in the brake line, water in the brake line.

- Check the pads
- Bleed the brakes

Pads are brand new, installed them right before the winter started. How do you bleed the brakes cuz it sure does seem like there is either air or water in the lines.

Get on gixxer.com you can find how to bleed your rear brakes...however...i'm leaning more towards the bolt/nut that are on your rear master cylinder that acutally presses up into the master is not tightened all the way down. Had it happen to a few of my buddies.

Pretty good topic for it;

http://www.gixxer.com/forums/s...brake

But like i said...check the nut/bolt that actually goes into the rear master when you push the rear brake lever down.

Well whats weird is, the day i got it out last week and rode it, brake worked semi ok, I noticed something was off but thought maybe after 4 months of not riding im just not pressing it hard enought. But today, it just plopped down without even bothering to apply brakes.

It feels really smilar to soft clutch, whenever clutch master cyl goes apeshit, the clutch becomes soft and doesnt really have any pressure to move the brake fluid to apply the force to the pressure plates. Same concept...could it be that my brake cylinder went bad? But then wouldnt I have brake fluid sipping out of it?
